Defiantly without genre Lovely Assistant explore long-distance, long-dead Americana alongside bygone bits of the New Wave.
Working out of a community centre in North-east England, the revivalist 4-piece produced a debut album on limited 12” release.
Influenced by the torch-songs of the fifties through to J.J. Cale, Arthur Russell, Prefab Sprout, Little Feat, Elvis Costello and Angel Olsen.

Upon first listen, the voice reminds me of Julia Holter (who I love!), but the arrangements are more organic. When the final track bowed out with a whisper, I was sad it was over. Lovely work.
